Things stuck in MRIs:
^^click title for link^^
So supposedly these are pictures of various objects stuck inside MRI machines. They look fake to me - especially the guy in the chair which is in the MRI - there's no way he could have "ridden" the chair all the way into the bore like that (although imagning that happening is quite funny).
I have seen, with my own eyes, a quarter levitate in the field generated by a 7T magnet before (that's 7 tesla - for comparison, the earth's magnetic field is 0.00005 tesla). The 7T magnet is strong enough that you can subjectively experience the field - when you go into the magnet, it seems as if you're going around a corner instead of sliding straight in. Many people also get a metallic taste in the mouth.
None of these effects happen with a 1.5T or 3T magnet, which are most commonly used on patients and even research subjects - the 7T is so new we mostly only use it on other people who work at the center.
